I bet everybody thinks that prize-winning competitions are a waste of time! You never win. Well, I will not say that anymore! Five minutes spent to enter the competition proved that I was wrong to think in that way. In fact I won a Spanish course in Argentina! This is perfect to me as I already study Spanish and it will be a wonderful opportunity to improve my skills. Honestly, I could not ask for more! I want to thank you EXPO Study Abroad for this opportunity! I am sure it will be unforgettable.

“In my opinion, the work you do is extremely valuable, so that people can have the opportunity to improve academically. For me, education is very important and therefore, we need assistance to choose the places that best match our interests. Ever since I've known about the EXPO, I've participated every year, I think for about 3 years. I always participated in the contest, but you never think that that opportunity will knock at your door. I am really very happy and thankful because, thanks to your initiative, I will be able to travel and improve a language that is highly important for my professional life, as is Portuguese.

First of all, I would like to say that you can't imagine how happy I am for having been chosen as one of the winners, as it is a privilege and one of my life's greatest experiences. As for the contest, I think it was something that not only can you see yourself as being a simple winner, rather I consider myself to be someone privileged, and could say that I put all my determination and enthusiasm into, and I think that that is the most valuable in all this. In the same way, the prize that you awarded me to Brazil, I think is fabulous, it's practically outstanding to be able to go do a Portuguese course in such a big country, with a culture so full of joy and diversity, and to go to a country where the best universities in Latin America are found, I think is fabulous, and without thinking twice, is an experience that not just for me, but for anyone would stay recorded in their life.

When I registered last year, it was because the idea of studying abroad seemed like it would be enriching for all types of majors (especially mine--I study International Business). In the end, I registered, but for several reasons I didn't send the recommendation emails that enter you to win the prizes, except for those closest to me. Naturally, this year, when I got the email letting me know about the place and date of the 2009 EXPO, I started with the emails, and to be honest, I wasn't very enthusiastic to win, but wanted to pass this information onto my classmates, friends and family members so they could get a tool for their professional, cultural and personal growth. I was very happy when I received the email telling me I had won; I never expected to win, so it was big surprise gift! Today I'm already thinking about when I will do the course, and I'm very excited to involve myself with the language and culture of Brazil that I admire so much.
This contest is 100% transparent and allows anyone to enter. It's wonderful for those who want to do something more than study inside a classroom and who want to interact with different environments. Thank you for giving me this possibility and I hope to have a lot to tell after the trip.

About a year ago I signed up for an online contest on Expo-studyabroad.com. I registered during my registration for seminars that I do every year in Colombia. The truth is that I do not believe that much in these types of contest. So, I was really surprised when, some days after, I discovered I had won the one month course for learning Portuguese in Brazil!
Brazil enriched my life. I met many people from different countries, I learned Portuguese with excellent teachers, I tried great dishes from Brazilian food, I visited beaches, museums, craft fairs, bars and I danced forró and samba in different cities. In few words: It was an incredible experience. If you have the opportunity to visit Brazil, do it! It is such a wonderful place!

Everything started as a joke. Thanks to the filming of a book series that became a movie. My friend and I were planning to go to Vancouver, in Canada. But for many reasons it was pretty impossible. Until my friend let me know that there would be a study abroad event. I thought it was really interesting and wanted to know more about it, in case I do it in the future, besides learning, since I study Tourism. I entered the drawing, knowing that I wouldn't win, but I tried. Then I got the email telling me that I had won. At first, I didn't really believe it; I never win anything in drawings. And then I was a little scared. But because the country was exactly Canada, I decided to know more. I found out more through emails with the company, polite and understanding people who clarified everything. So, I'm very happy for the chance I'll have to study outside Brazil and very excited to get to know another country.
