The city of Spokane, a metropolotan area with a population of 300,000, is located 24 kilometers from EWU's main campus in the town of Cheney. The population of Cheney is 9,855. Fifty-one buildings on 300 acres muke up the main campus. There is easy bus service between Cheney and Spokane. Students may take time for fun with their International Peer Advisor (IPA). IPAs are EWU students who are matched with small groups of ELI students for conversation practice They also help students get accustomed to American life with fun social and cultural activities. IPAs welcome new students at the airport.
