Welcome to Maryville, Tennessee!

Founded in 1819, Maryville College is one of the 50 oldest universities in the United States.  Our Intensive English (ESL) program has helped students quickly improve their English since 1985.  With us you can study English for education, work, business or travel.  You can even get college credit for your ESL studies if you matriculate into the Maryville College undergraduate program.  Maryville College offers conditional and concurrent admissions into the undergraduate program through its ESL program. No TOEFL, IELTS or other standardized test scores needed.

Small classes (average 6-8 students) , low costs, and highly qualified teachers who hold at least master's degrees make Maryville College ESL program a wise choice for those who want to improve their English quickly.  Students will experience college campus life by living on campus with more than 1,100 other Maryville College students from many states and countries; sharing their meals, their activities, and sometimes even join undergraduate-level classes.

Our 5-week sessions start year-round so you can start when it fits your schedule and take as many sessions as you want.  We offer 6 levels of instruction, 25 hours in the classroom and additional hours out of class, during trips and excursions.  We also offer short-term group programs, tailored to meet your groups' needs. 

Our dedicated Center for International Education staff will ensure that you receive all the support that you need to do well academically, and that includes social, cultural and emotional support.  We want to get to know you as a person, not just as a student, and hope that you will enjoy being a part of our international family!
